Public Meeting Announcement

PRELIMINARY REDEVELOPMENT CONCEPTS & SITE PLANS
FOR THE DOWNTOWN RAILROAD SITE

YOU’RE INVITED!

The City of Tomah Long Range Planning Committee invites you to a presentation and discussion of preliminary redevelopment opportunities for the railroad property located just north of the Downtown. The Presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 2nd at 6:30pm in the Banquet Hall at the Teepee Super Club in Downtown Tomah (812 Superior Avenue).
Over the last several months, the City of Tomah and Canadian Pacific Railway have been working together to create a preliminary redevelopment plan for the railroad property located on both sides of Superior Avenue just north of the railroad tracks and the Downtown. Working with a planning and economic development consultant, we have identified several unique and exciting opportunities and have created preliminary site plans. We are eager to share these with you and other community leaders for your feedback and input.
Some of the topics that will be presented and discussed include:

O Potential options for the redevelopment of the CP property

O Long term economic development opportunities for this important site and for the City of Tomah as a whole

O The possibility of a new intermodal transportation center that integrates a new Amtrak station with other transportation and visitor amenities.

O An update on the environmental issues on the property and remediation strategies currently underway

This event will be an exciting opportunity to learn about these preliminary plans and weigh in with your thoughts and ideas. Members of the Long Range Planning Committee, City staff, railroad representatives, and the project consultant will be on hand to discuss these opportunities and to answer questions. No RSVP is necessary so please feel free to forward this e-mail to others that you believe may have an interest in this project.

This project is funded in partnership by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, Canadian Pacific Railway, Forward Tomah, and the City of Tomah. If you have any questions, please contact City Administrator Jim Bialecki at (608) 374-7422.
