ADMINISTRATOR – Tomah, WI (Pop. 9,174) Exempt Salary Range $68,825-$88,951, DOQ, plus excellent benefits. Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Planning or related field with Masters Degree preferred and three years administration experience. Desire a strong background in municipal management, governmental budgeting, finance, human resource, economic development, planning, industrial development, TIF Districts, and commitment to citizen service. The ideal candidates will have excellent people skills with a friendly, outgoing personality. Those candidates with additional years of experience over three years that may not have the desired educational background will also be considered. The City of Tomah is located where I90/94 and Highways 21 & 16 come together in the heart of cranberry country. The work is performed under the direction of 8 Council members and the Mayor, and there are 71 full time employees with a $16 million dollar annual budget. Residency is required.

PRESIDENTIAL/GENERAL ELECTION

Absentee voting is being conducted in the City Clerk's office at 819 Superior Avenue Monday-Friday from 8 to 4:30 p.m.  The last day for absentee voting will be Friday, November 2nd, 2012 at 5 p.m.  You may also register in the Clerk's office until Friday, November 2nd.  Proof of residency is required.  Polls will open at 7 a.m. on November 6th and close at 8 p.m.  Polling place for the City of Tomah is the Tomah Fire Station located directly behind City Hall.  All requests for absentee ballots to be mailed must be received no later than November 1st.

Partisan Primary Election

The Partisan Primary Election will be held on August 14, 2012 in the Fire Station behind City Hall at 819 Superior Avenue.  Citizens may vote absentee in the Clerk's Office beginning on July 30, 2012.  Voter registration after July 25, 2012 must be conducted in the Office of the City Clerk and proof of residency is required.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding the August Primary Election, please contact the City Clerk's Office at (608)374-7426.

Burning Restrictions

Burning Restrictions




Effective immediately, emergency burning restrictions have been extended to include Jackson, Monroe, Waupaca, Wood, Portage, and Waushara counties and additional portions of Adams and Juneau counties. All burn permits are suspended. Under Emergency Burning Restrictions, burning of any combustible material outdoors is prohibited until further notice. This includes:

-All Fireworks (restricted and non-restricted)

-Combustible material in a burn pile or barrel

-Campfires

-Outdoor smoking of a cigar, cigarette, or pipe.
